ABOUT US

Meet Katie and Matt

We’re Katie and Matt, and we live just up the road in Dún Laoghaire with our two children, Aoife and Cian.
We’ve been hosting for a little over six years now, though hospitality has always been part of our lives long before we ever listed a property. Matt works in residential real estate across South Dublin, helping families find homes they can grow into. Katie manages interior renovations and styling projects, mostly period properties along the coast. Between us, homes have always been more than buildings. They are stories waiting to unfold.
Citrus Haven is personal to us.
We grew up believing that love needs space. Space to talk. Space to breathe. Space to mend. The coast has always given us that. Long walks along the water in Dalkey. Evenings when the sky turns soft and everything slows down. We wanted to create a place where couples could experience that same quiet reset.
We host because we believe love deserves tending.
And because we know how much a few peaceful days away can change everything.

The Legacy

Citrus Haven began with our grandparents.
They built the home themselves in the late 1960s when Dalkey was far quieter than it is today. It was where Sunday dinners stretched into evening. Where birthdays were celebrated in the garden. Where difficult years were steadied by routine and warmth.
Our grandmother used to say the house had a pulse of its own. It held laughter. It held silence. It held forgiveness.
When the home passed to us, we faced a decision. Sell it and move on, or restore it and protect what it meant.
We chose restoration.
Every wall has been refreshed with care. Every room redesigned without stripping away its soul. The bones remain. The heart remains. What has changed is comfort, refinement, and the quiet luxury that modern couples appreciate.
This is not a staged retreat. It is a continuation.

Final Words

We know there are many places to stay in Dublin.
Citrus Haven is not trying to compete with large hotels or flashy listings. It is for couples who want something quieter. More intentional. More personal.
If you choose to stay with us, you will be welcomed thoughtfully and given your space fully.
We are proud of what this home has become.
And we would love for you to experience it.
